One Small Wooden Plane

And here it is.....my post-Christmas reminder of simplicity. Santa brought one of these airplanes to each of my children; they're identical to the kind found at the Target dollar bin. Electronics and much more expensive toys were unwrapped that morning, and one of the most played with that Christmas morning and still today are these wooden planes, no larger than 4 inches long. I hope they continue to play with them all year long, as a reminder to me of what is important and that beauty often lies in simpleness.

Beautiful Winter Tree -- maybe $2??

So The Nester, who has some great craft projects, made a wonderful coffee filter tree and after making an easy coffee filter wreath I think I may give it a try for some last-winter decor in the house. But rather than buying a foam cone, I'm going to try to use some large cardstock I have here in the house to make my own free cone. http://www.thenester.com/2010/11/making-a-coffee-filter-wreath-and-tree-and-things-of-that-nature.html

Loving the play items

We received some wonderful "play" items from Christmas that are educational as well - loving the Melissa and Doug geometric pattern cards (both the 4 and 2 yr old enjoying it) and the marble maze available from US Toys/Constructive Playthings.
